Top court quashes petition to disqualify Gibran

T he Constitutional Court has dismissed a petition challenging Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s eligibility for the 2024 election, saying the petitioners lacked legal standing despite finding no evidence he met the high school-equivalent education requirement to run for office.
In a decision read out on Tuesday evening, the court found no convincing evidence that Gibran, the eldest son of former president Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, holds a diploma proving that he completed overseas senior high school.
