Satire Content on Moving Countries and Accumulating Citizen Disappointment

he timeline of Indonesian social media has suddenly been bustling over the past week with various posts featuring citizens abroad, ranging from those engaged in work, showcasing the life journeys of their children who have changed citizenship, to holding foreign passports. Most of these posts include a uniform caption reading “Report Mr. Prabowo: We Have Moved to Another Country.”
One of the posts from the account @pangeranmanurung on the social media platform Threads from the Times Square area, New York, for example, features a photo of a family posing amidst the city’s hustle and bustle. In the photo, the account owner wrote a graphic text stating, “Report Mr. Prabowo, We Have Moved as per Your Instructions.”
As of Monday morning (July 20, 2026), the post, shared two days earlier, had been liked more than 48,500 times and viewed more than 1.2 million times. It had also garnered around 6,000 comments, been reshared 1,100 times, and shared by 879 netizens.
